Hi, I am Sam Taylor from 3d printing revolution, This listing contains variable sizes of stainless steel nozzles. I have personally ordered a set and tested the 0.6mm version. the nozzles arrived in Australia in less than 2 weeks. I am happy with the quality of the machining and the resulting prints.
You can expect to need to add 5 to 10 degrees to the hot end temp in your printing profile to achieve the same printing results due to the slower rate of thermal conductivity. For larger nozzles than 0.4 expect to need additional heat. don't be surprised if you need to push the temp up as far as 230 for pla+ or even higher if (like me) you don't want to slow down.
I have tried 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 1mm nozzle sizes.
Hands down my personal favorite are the 0.6mm nozzles !!!!!!
0.6mm nozzles can be used with standard hardware and very few changes to settings. Just go into your slicer update machine settings to 0.6mm nozzle. Then start with your favorite profile and set your line width to 0.6mm. you will now be able to achieve a 1.2mm thick shell in 2 lines where a 0.4mm nozzle takes 3. Due to the larger nozzle size and higher flow rates, you will likely need to add more heat start by adding 10c if switching from the standard brass 0.4mm nozzle on most 3d printers. check the number of walls is less than it was before and save your new faster profile
You can also get a bit more daring if you want to do some experimenting. Try using line widths anywhere between 0.4mm and 0.8 or even push it to 1mm. that's right with the 0.6mm nozzle you get the flexibility of still printing at 0.4mm line widths for fine detail or use wider lines to give you shorter print times. you will need to increase temperature and possibly decrease speed particularly for infill and inner walls if you have your line width and layer height too big. as a general rule of thumb try to get the extruder gear turning at a quick but steady pace and avoid spikes of speed that cause the extruder to skip or grind. The time saving of the wider lines is that fewer parameters are needed to give a thick shell. so even if you need to slow down it will still get there quicker.
